The CB Avalanche Center's sole purpose is to provide valuable and needed information and support to the community and neighboring towns. Volunteers and forecasters of the Center will observe, record, and report daily weather, snow pack and avalanche activity and provide regularly updated avalanche danger ratings accessible to anyone interested via telephone, internet, radio, and paper postings.
PAWS, the Paradise Animal Welfare Society provides animal welfare services in Crested Butte and surrounding areas north of Round Mountain. Our specific objectives are assistance with animal rescue, spay/neuter assistance, foster care, pet placements, prevention of animal cruelty and neglect, and educating the public about our furry friends. We are a "no kill" facility.
The mission of the Crested Butte Land Trust is to forever protect and steward open lands for vistas, recreation, wildlife, and ranching, thus contributing to the preservation of Gunnison County’s unique heritage and quality of life.
